  We went at the right time, just before 12 noon, before it got really busy. After we finished our lunch, the queue was huge. This eatery can only take a small number of visitors at a time. If you want to try this, get in early!
  
  I have always had a sweet tooth, so I went for their coffee and walnut bun. The bun was very spongy and yet crispy on the side. It does taste nice and different from any other bun that I’ve tasted.
  
  Love this little historic place!

  My wife and I dined at Sally Lunn's for an early dinner on Saturday. The experience was rather underwhelming, mainly from a service perspective.
  
  We were seated quickly and were given enough time to take a look at the menu. I opted for the £8.48 Welsh Rarebit Special, because, who doesn't like a bit of cheese on toast?! I didn't want the mushrooms, so politely asked that they were not included. Plus, I prefer a 'top' bun half to a 'bottom' bun half, so made the request. No problem with either, I was assured.
  What came to the table? You guessed it. A bottom with loads of mushrooms. I may as well have made the pre-meal request with the chimney I was sat next to.
  
  The meal was good, but neither of us were blown away.
  
  We decided not to try the sweet bun, so asked for the bill. While waiting an eternity for a bill that never came, my frustration with the whole experience reached a crescendo. I had to ask for the bill a second time and couldn't leave this charming little house quickly enough.
  
  I wish that the experience was better, but it wasn't. Must do better guys.
