  Very warm welcome by reception staff. We arrived well before check in time but the concierge offered to park the car in the hotel car park which allowed us to start enjoying our break in Bath immediately. When we returned to check in we were offered an upgrade to superior rooms. Decor and colours in the hotel very much of the Georgian period and a few uneven floorboards but all expected given the age of the building. Our rooms were lovely and spacious and had a huge bed!! Good pillows! There was a coffee machine as well as the usual tray facilities and an iron and ironing board which is a nice added detail. Would have appreciated improved lighting in the bedroom - but we always find that a problem in any hotel we stay in. Fortunately I managed to put my make up on in the shower room which was well appointed. Nice to have bath sheet towels for a change. Everywhere was very clean and fresh. Only niggle was the disturbance from the road outside as our rooms overlooked the square. However, this lovely hotel is extremely well placed for shops, restaurants and attractions that it can only be expected.

  It was bank holiday weekend so upon arrival it was quite busy in the reception and even with two people working the reception desks there was quite a wait to collect our room key. Concierge was helpful and it was great to get our car parked in the hotel car park. We were in a rush as we needed to get changed and to head straight to a wedding and the reception were helpful in getting us into a room prior to normal check in time so we could get changed. The room was very small but well equipped, clean and stylish. Although having to use hotels frequently for work purposes I'm not sure the room rate was entirely great value for money, but given the fact it was a bank holiday weekend I would suspect this inflated to rates somewhat.

  From our first step in the door , everyone was so helpful and kind. My husband had recently fractured his pelvis and I required lots of assistance. This was given in abundance, I don't recall the chaps names who rescued my husband but thank you. You made our stay wonderful. Thank you Margaret Slootjes

  After a long day we were immediately made to feel very welcome. The receptionist was both professional and friendly and upon hearing it was our first anniversary upgraded our room. The porter was very helpful in helping us settle in to our rooms. The hotel itself was beautifully decorated and our room for the night was very comfortable and beautifully furnished. We ordered room service for dinner and the food which arrived quickly was very good. One of our nicest stays in a hotel with no issues at all. Lovely staff and a picturesque hotel.

  Reception staff very helpful.
  Our room was not cleaned properly after the first night, dust on furniture, bathroom not cleaned, bed not made properly.
  The towels and dressing gowns were luxurious but left white bits on the carpet.and this was not vacuumed.
  I would have expected better standards in a hotel of this calibre.
  We were a party of 6, 3 bedrooms, and we all experienced the same.
  We will be contacting Secret Escapes who we booked with.
